Numet’s capabilities include exotic and difficult to machine alloy and super alloys designed for the extreme temperatures of jet engines including:

Horizontal and Vertical Turning

Numet has both Vertical and Horizonal turning capabilities in CNC machines.   Tight tolerances are held using gaging at the machine and CMM validation off the machine.   Vertical turning capabilities are up to 65 inches across manual and CNC (9) VTLs.   Horizontal turning capabilities are up to 30 inches across (10) CNC Horizontal Lathes.  Programming for both CNC and CMM is completed internally.

3-4-5 Axis Milling of complex geometry

Numet has Milling capabilities in 3, 4 and 5 Axis.   In house programming for milling of tight tolerances in complex geometry in (3) 3/4-Axis Machines with a 24×36 inch table and (11) 5-Axis machines with a swing capacity up to 60 inches.  Programming for both CNC and CMM is completed internally.

Wire and Sinker EDM

Numet has both Wire and Sinker EDM capability across (2) CNC 5-Axis wire EDM machines with 36-inch rotary tables and a sinker EDM machine with a 42-inch table.

CMM

In addition to skilled bench inspection personnel, Numet has (5) CMM’s on site, Numet can inspect parts up to 72 inches. Programming is completed on sited in both PC-DMIS (Hexagon), Calypso (Zeiss), and MODUS (Renishaw).

  • NADCAP

    Numet is annually audited and maintains a NADCAP certification for Conventional Machining as a Special Process. This is an annual recertification that is maintained by the Quality teams.

    Numet maintains approval by GE Aviation for P11TF12 - Hole making in Super Alloys with approval classes A, B, E, and G. (NADCAP ID 10821) This is an annual recertification that is maintained by the Engineering and Quality teams.
